Semper Fi & America’s Fund’s Housing Insecurity Initiative

September 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Virtual Event
Event Series (See All)

Semper Fi & America’s Fund’s Housing Insecurity Initiative is offering potential financial assistance with the following if a veteran meets our eligibility criteria:

  • Entry into new housing — currently homeless; first month’s rent and/or deposit
  • Eviction prevention — notice of eviction / pay-or-quit notice required
  • Utility assistance — requires an active disconnect notice with a future date of disconnection, or, if the utilities are currently off, proof that the utility is currently shut off or disconnected; necessity utilities only (gas, electricity, water, sewer). Utility must be in the veteran’s name.

This program is available for veterans of any era and is available nationwide. The veteran must have a minimum of 6 months of service and a DD214 or NGB22.

Disqualifying factors:

  • Felony conviction
  • Sex offender
  • Dishonorable discharge
  • Less than 6 months of service

Please do not submit referrals with any disqualifying factors. It slows down our ability to process other referrals and offer assistance.

Please note: This email and Zoom link are for our community referring partners only — please don’t share them with veterans directly.

Referral Process

To begin, use the referral form (link below). It’s essential that you enter the veteran’s contact info correctly. If the veteran doesn’t have a way to be contacted, please note that in the comments section and ask that we reach out to you directly (only if the veteran doesn’t have access to a phone or email). It can take up to seven days from the time a referral is submitted to when an Intake Case Manager attempts initial contact.

Referral Form: https://forms.office.com/r/Pt7nwHK1sb

You can begin submitting referrals immediately. Submitting a referral starts our review process and does not guarantee that assistance will be provided.

Documents required (collected by the Intake Case Manager if preliminary eligibility is determined):

  • DD214 or NGB22 – cannot accept any other documents
  • Signed application, required prior to assistance being provided. If the application has been shared with you in the past, please DO NOT share it with any other veterans. This is coordinated through our Intake Team only.
  • Photo ID
  • Eviction notice / pay or quit notice / foreclosure documentation (eviction prevention / foreclosure only)
  • Active utility disconnect notice showing a future date of disconnection, or proof that the utility is currently shut off or disconnected (utility assistance only)
